Content and structure

The prayers and blessings are in Hebrew, transliterated, and additionally translated into German. Therefore, there are three ways to read the prayers.
The booklet begins – like most Siddurim (prayer orders for various Jewish occasions) – from the right, and one flips through it to the left.

Ready for Hanukkah?

This booklet does not contain all the Hebrew prayers associated with this festival. A Machzor (prayer book with complete collections of prayers) can easily be hundreds of pages long. This guide is intended to provide an introduction and help you recite the basic prayers and blessings. The most important activities are briefly explained so you can get started quickly and celebrate the festival without extensive preparation. You can simply open the booklet and read from it. The explanations can also be read aloud for everyone present.
